The exhibition, The Path to the World Expo, is one of the most important ways to promote the 2010 event to local people.

It seeks to arouse public recognition for the Expo, the first in a developing country, and to explain the purpose of exhibitions and review the history of past expositions.

Last season saw the return of funny lady Debra Messing to the small screen in USA's mini-series, The Starter Wife. It was such a hit that USA is bringing it back as a full series, with the two hour premiere on Monday, October 10th.

The mini-series, based on Gigi Levangie Grazer's New York Times bestselling novel, focused on Molly, Debra Messing's character, dealing with the shock of a surprise divorce. The series will follow her as she recovers and starts to build her life. As the tagline says, "Wife Goes On"!

Today we have a special exclusive: a behind the scenes visit with Agata Maaszkiewicz, the costume designer for The Starter Wife. She talks about working with Debra Messing and the style they created her for character Molly. Watch and enjoy!

Bottega Venetta sent fingerless gloves down the runway at their A/W 2009 menswear show. Of course, these weren't your average do-it-yourself, cut-off K-Mart gloves. They were heavy, knit cashmere and, like everything else BV sells, will likely cost a pretty penny.

In fact, they even won over The Sartorialist, who was previously opposed to the impracticality of such an item. (I mean, aren't gloves supposed to keep your whole hand warm?) What do you think guys--are these cool and tough, or are they too fussy and impractical?

4: Get a Great Haircut
Invest in a versatile, stylish cut. Mrs. Obama's layered bob can go from sleek and straight to flirty and feminine to suit any occasion and outfit.

3: Discover Defining Colors
Give black (and navy...and charcoal, etc.) a break! Whether you look best in jewel tones or pastels, wearing color brightens your skin tone (and can have a similar affect on your mood). The First Lady doesn't shy away from printed brights as seen on her magenta Thakoon sheath (far left) or striking solids like a turquoise dress from Maria Pinto (left).

9: Find Your Resources
Seek out stores with an attentive staff that can do the hard work for you. Mrs. Obama favors Ikram, a fashionable Chicago boutique, where owner Ikram Goldman keeps an eye out for flattering pieces. Many department stores (and trendy shops like Topshop) offer complimentary personal shopping -- just make an appointment ahead of time. Mrs. Obama also saves time and money by shopping online for colorful basics from J. Crew (left). Sticking to your favorite retailers means you'll know which designers, styles and sizes suit you best.

Landov; Joyce Boghosian/The White House

2: Choose Signature Pieces
Define your style wearing (and wearing) pieces that speak to you. Look no further than Mrs. Obama's official portrait (left) to see that the First Lady sticks to favorites like sleeveless sheaths (this by Michael Kors) and a double strand of pearls. Other wardrobe staples include her headline-making cardigan sweaters and belts (far left).

5: Don't Sacrifice Comfort
Who says you have to suffer for fashion or fabulous shoes? When on the move, the First Lady chooses easy cotton sundresses (like this one from Moschino, left) or tailored trousers dressed up with a fitted jacket (from Azzedine Alaia, far left). Look for pieces that suit your shape while giving you a little extra breathing room. For practical and chic shoes, select sleek ballet flats in patent, snakeskin or metallics, or classic low pumps with a kitten heel.

Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images; Ron Sachs-Pool/Getty Images

Brian Snyder/Landov; Fabrizio Bensch/Landov

10: Know When to WOW!
When it's your time to shine, do it! For the Inauguration, Mrs. Obama went all-out with a hand-embroidered, one-shoulder Jason Wu gown (far left), while at the Democratic National Convention, she added three Erickson Beamon brooches to a bold floral-print dress from Thakoon (left). Next time you're in the spotlight, don't be afraid to break from your typical look: Choose a knockout number that you -- and everyone around you -- will buzz about.

Marcel Thomas/FilmMagic; Kevin Lamarque/Landov

Charles Ommanney/Getty Images; Polaris

8: Reveal Your Silhouette
Fitted sheaths (like this from Thakoon, far left) highlight the First Lady's long, lean line, and full-skirted dresses like this Azzedine Alaia design (left) draw attention to her small waist. Find cuts that flatter your figure -- and stick with them.

7: Accessorize like a Pro
Statement jewelry can make an outfit. The First Lady adds oversized Tom Binns necklaces (like those at left) to classic evening ensembles, or fastens her favorite cardigans with a collection of costume brooches. Avoid a fashion exclamation by sticking with one statement piece per outfit.

6: Shop Your Closet
Effortlessly mix and match key separates to create different looks. Mrs. Obama created two distinctive outfits using her marigold J. The streets of New York felt a little bit like Halloween last night or maybe a really, really good Saturday night back in the golden boom days of 1999 -- giggling girls teetering in high heels; champagne literally flowing freely; nary an empty cab in sight and traffic gridlock even at 10:30 pm. And did we mention celebrities?

It was Fashion's Night Out, and it seems pretty clear a really good time was had by all. Cheers to that!

But the question on everyone's mind is: Was anyone buying much? More than 800 stores in New York alone kept their doors open until 11 p.m., many with special events, cocktails and celebrity guests. Similar events on a smaller scale took place in major cities around the world.

While the fete was designed to put some fun back into shopping during a blah economic period, it was also supposed to inspire people to open their wallets. No word on an overall tally this morning, though the city's tourism agency says it is working on gathering data.

We definitely saw people with smallish shopping bags, especially when a store offered something new and special, such as Chanel's new Jade shade, which our Beauty Editor Laura Kenney is flashing on her digits everywhere today.

Rachel Roy's pop-up store was also going gangbusters, says Assistant Editor Dana Oliver, who is delighted with the purple, Monet-painting-like trench coat adorned with a bow and fold-down, funnel-neck collar.

One thing that we noticed everywhere were the commemorative T-shirts. Even Anna Wintour -- usually in pretty dresses that have labels other than "Hanes" -- donned one for her visit to Macy's in Queens.

We can't say we are a fan of her very skinny arms -- please eat some more! But Fashion's Night Out was her idea, so we'll focus on the positive and thank her for a fabulous night on the town.

Check out the stars below wearing them, then see FNO's promotional video for a look at how other fashion tastemakers wear them well. (We love the statement necklace on Tory Burch -- a huge fall trend!)

The new Façonnable is taking its cues from yesteryear.

For spring, new artistic director Eric Wright is tapping into the brand’s French DNA and infusing his latest collection with a bit of ooh la la.

“I’m thinking about the Frenchwoman on vacation at the Cote d’Azur,” Wright told StyleList about his new offerings. “I wanted something that fit into her summer closet, could be rolled up in baskets, or hanging on hooks. There’s a simplicity — you don’t think about it when you put it on – you just start layering.”

The women’s collection, shown yesterday in New York, is chock-full of classic pieces in sunny, bright colors that can be worn together with a fashionable fluidity. (What else would you expect from Karl Lagerfeld’s former right-hand man?)

“I learned so much about tailoring and so much about fit from Karl Lagerfeld,” Wright said. “He always wants fashion to be accessible. That’s why he had so much fun doing the line for H&M.” And now that he’s a designer in his own right, that ethos has been carried over to the house of Façonnable. “I don’t believe that because something is supposed to easy and affordable that it can’t be cut well and made well. That’s the American part of me, I guess.”

SHOW: ThuyMAKEUP: Romero Jennings for M.A.CHAIR: Allen Ruiz for AvonBEAUTY SNAPSHOT: It's all about the eyesTHE SCOOP:To create the look for the show makeup artist Romero Jennings worked closely with designer Thuy and stuck to her focus on organic shapes and clean lines. "To play off the clean lines we decided to do a strong bold eyeliner but instead of doing a normal shape we decided to do something squared off so it's quiet strong and graphic." The eyes are the star of this look so to complete the makeup Jennings did a simple sculpted cheek and a neutral mouth. The result is fresh and accessible. "Anybody could do this themselves and it's almost like you're messing up your liner because you're not doing a point so it's easy to clean up. To get the cheek right, smile so you can see where the apple forms. Notice where the point is and then relax your face. Start applying at the point and blend out."

To emulate the chic updo at home hairstylist Allen Ruiz says the key is prepping and texturizing the hair. "You want to have the hair well treated so it isn't slipping as you shape and pin. Once you have prepped, form a side ponytail and then roll it up pinning as you go." For longer hair Ruiz suggests twisting and pinning pieces to create the right length of loose strands.

SHOW: United BambooMAKEUP: Dick Page for ShiseidoBEAUTY SNAPSHOT: Rich color with a lot of depth.

THE SCOOP: For United Bamboo makeup artist Dick Page designed a look that brought out the natural beauty in each of the models. As Page put it, "each girl is very individual, maybe not the way she sees herself, but the way I see her." To execute his vision, Page did the brows and the finishing touches on every model in the show. "I put weight into the eyebrow and created, not exactly a smoky eye, but more like a halo of color." If you find filling in your brows daunting Page suggest using a pencil, wax or a gel instead of a powder which can look too thin. "Pick a color that matches as close to yours as possible. It is fairly easy for dark brows, but blondes should be careful to pick a gray based color since it's really easy for blonde shades to look red."

GET THE LOOK: Shiseido Natural Eyebrow Pencil, Smoothing Eyeliner Pencil in Brown, Pefect Mascara in Black, Luminizing Satin Eye Color in Kambu and Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Almond Pink (exact products not available until the fall line hits stores in August).
